We tested how just released Resident Evil 2 Remake DEMO perform on PC which is ultimately and budget rig (kinda). We have old i7 4770k @ 4.0GHz, RX570 4GB Gigabyte at 1300MHz Core Clock and default Memory clocks. 16GB DDR3 ram running at 2133MHz, running from Samsung V300 SSD (240GB).
Game is performing better then what was anticipated having on mind that it’s 2019 and it’s first title. RX570 continue to impress us with performance/cost price.
For recommended settings game is offering 0.5GB High Textures along with Medium shadows and Lightning effects, but having most of the stuff ON and cranked up to High really reflects only in very short dips to 47fps during begining of some scenes which are starting just after cutscene, which is by the way made on true ingame graphics/engine. Lowering those to Medium will increase Minimum and Average FPS just slightly.
On the other side if you turn down all settings to low, it’s debatable but you get really clean picture yet you have “REMASTER” graphics which is really not that bad so really low budget GPU’s and their owner will enjoy RE2 Remake nontheless with somewhat smooth gameplay even then with only 1.5GB VRAM usage most of the time.
We do have video of how it actually looks on lowest settings, and to be honest game is looking better and loosing less quality then video with our compression settings due to sharp edges and clean picture with camera motion and action.
We do provide all Graphics Settings section available in game.
For benchmark purposes and trying to tweak game sliders and Memory counter are more then appreciated. I don’t remember seeing this method having on mind whole Graphics settings until now yet.
Rest of the settings are not less interesting aswel.
Year 2019 starts promising and really good on technical side. We are looking forward for covering even more games and doing even more in depth analyzes of upcoming titles.
